DizzyCare Clinic is a private vestibular physiotherapy clinic established in 2012. We specialise in diagnosis and treatment of vertigo, dizziness and unsteadiness. DizzyCare Clinic is one of a very few clinics in the UK that provides vestibular rehabilitation exclusively for patients with vestibular disorders. We also provide workshops and training courses on vestibular rehabilitation for health professionals in the UK and abroad.

Meet the Specialist

Samy Selvanayagam

  • Clinical specialist & Director of the DizzyCare Clinic, Codsall, Wolverhampton, UK where he has been providing customised vestibular rehabilitation for patients with vertigo, dizziness and impaired balance since 2012
  • Tutor & Director of Vestibular Rehabilitation workshops and courses run by DizzyCare Clinic across the UK and abroad.
  • Successfully gained Competency Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2009 at Emory University under the Directorship of the world renowned Prof. S. J. Herdman PhD PT.
  • Completed Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy in Neurology -2000 (T N Medical University, Chennai, India)
  • Completed Undergraduate in Physiotherapy – 1996 (TN Medical University, Chennai, India)
  • Samy is a member of Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapist (CSP) & Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation (ACPIVR)
  • Won Robert Williams International award by CSP for a research poster presented at WCPT Congress at Amsterdam in June 2011.
  • Works as a Senior Physiotherapist In the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Hospital Trust, Wolverhampton, West Midlands since 2006.



  • Dizziness is one of the common symptom that affects people across all ages
  • However its prevalence significantly increases in people above the age of 60 years
  • Disorder in the inner ear balance organ is one of the most common cause for the dizziness , vertigo and unsteadiness
  • Use of medication for dizziness is only helpful during Acute vestibular symptoms ( vertigo, vomiting, unsteadiness).
  • Taking the vestibular medication s for longer than a week would interfere with recovery process
  • Customised vestibular rehabilitation is superior than “ watchful waiting”, vestibular medications, generic exercises & self-treatments using internet materials
