Course Overview:
Target audience: Ideal for beginners and as a refresher.
Content: Covers basic vestibular aspects, structures, and functions of the vestibular system, and multi-sensory balance control.
Focus Areas:
Understanding dizziness, a major symptom, through objective examinations and the concept of nystagmus (including normal and vestibular nystagmus).
Acute vestibular syndrome, covering central pathologies like posterior circulation stroke and peripheral pathologies like vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, and acute BPPV.
Subjective and objective assessments including the Dizziness Handicap Inventory.
Physical examinations focusing on oculomotor, neuro-musculoskeletal, vestibular
Specific tests for hypofunction, and balance tests.
Differential diagnosis of common vestibular conditions.
Treatment principles for various vestibular disorders, focusing on vestibular hypofunction, posterior canal BPPV, and functional balance exercises.
Learning Methods:
Theory, hands-on practical and case scenarios to enhance the learning experience.
Group size:
Limited to 15 participants.
