Course Reviews

Enhanced Vestibular Rehabilitation course Part 1: Introduction (16/3/24) Part 2: BPPV and Hypofunction (13/4/24).  Part 3: Complex Vestibular Disorders (Vestibular Migraine & PPPD) (14/4/24)

March/April 2024, NJB Physiotherapy, Wolverhampton

Really important area to develop due to knowledge + service gaps. Thanks Samy for breaking everything down to manageable chunks: Anatomy + Physiology, Conditions, Assessment, and Differential + Treatment of every condition. Thank you for the relaxed atmosphere that encouraged interaction. Thank you to all patients who came to be assessed, treated and taught us.

Very informative course to identify factors which contribute to more complex vestibular presentations. How to structure an assessment and treatment approach for those patients. Extremely beneficial to have the patients come in for us to observe their follow-up sessions. Also a good refresher of other assessment and treatment techniques. Many thanks.

Really helpful, friendly, clinically relevant course. Good mixture of patients, practical sessions and information/discussions. Able to ask questions and adapt information/ change direction, clarify without losing flow. Handouts very helpful particularly with dyslexia.

It was a great learning experience under the guidance of Samy who has been excellent with his course, giving all the practical and reading material along with the online resources to help understand how to treat patients with dizziness and fall prevention. I had been looking for such a course for a very long time and was fortunate enough to learn from the best. I wish could get more time and many more advanced courses if possible in the future. The course was simple, practical, effective and also appreciated the idea of seeing patients live and treated by Samy. Overall a great learning experience and feel more confident to apply these skills with appropriate clinical reasoning. So thank you.

Fantastic course! Attended all 3 days having had some experience of treating post. canal BPPV patients but left with a greater depth of knowledge and understanding of the variants of BPPV and more importantly how to treat them successfully. The real-time patient demos were great and really cemented the teaching. I've left with more conditions and differentials on my radar and a fully loaded treatment toolbox! Thanks Samy, great course!

I feel more informed about the vestibular migraine and PPPD. The information from the course will help me follow a clearer process for identifying these conditions and I have more knowledge now in how to manage them. Observing Samy assess patients was a bonus I wasn't expecting and it definitely supported my learning.

I really enjoyed the course. Excellent knowledge delivered. Now I understand more about vestibular problems. I learnt a lot. Samy was very willing to answer all questions from individuals which is very helpful. Overall thank you Samy, very interesting and useful courses.

Thank you for hosting this course - it was perfectly pitched to allow reference to anatomy and physiology and its relevance in assessment and treatment of vestibular conditions. Perfect amount of teaching vs practical vs interactive elements. It was very helpful to observe subjective/ objective Ax/ implement outcome measures/ and treat actual patients. The lunch was an added bonus :). Small group and intimate therefore able to ask questions and discuss openly. The access to DizzyCare Academy is very helpful and useful as a reference. Thank you for your time and expertise. I have really enjoyed attending and feel much more confident to assess and treat. Many thanks.

Introduction to Vestibular Rehabilitation

April 2024, University Hospitals Birmingham

Thank you for a very informative and interesting vestibular course. This course will be extremely beneficial for acute inpatient neurosciences and I feel a lot more confident with theory, assessment and treatment of vestibular presentations following attending the course.

Thank you. This was really helpful. Really good at explaining things allowing time for consolidation and time to ensure we understand. Good balance of lecture slides, videos, and practical lessons.

Thank you Sammy. Well delivered and clearly taught, for an incredibly complex topic area. You have provided clarity for aspects of vestibular assessment such as occular-motor/Ax nystagmus which I have previously found confusing.

Excellent and informative course that breaks down all aspects of diagnosis/assessment and rehabilitation. Easy to follow, a great practical aspect.

A great introduction to the vestibular systems, assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment. A helpful mix of theory and practice. Well supported with follow-up videos + helpful pre-reading.

Thank you, enjoyable day. Interesting and helpful :)

Clear description of ruling in or out Central stroke using HINTS. Clear teaching on managing acute onset dizziness with differential diagnosis.

Really really good! Very engaging, good mix of theory + practical. I feel much more confident in assessing + treating now. I got a little muddled with types of vestibular disorders + assessments but this was clarified later (I think just my learning style needed one then the other, but linking then was quite useful). Thank you very much Samy!

Extremely knowledgeable about subject. Lots of different ways of learning utilised - slides/practical etc. Pitched mainly at correct level for group. Relevant to my patient caseload. Ax + Rx easy to replicate clinically. I have learned lots - thank you!

Feedback following vestibular course. Very good mixture of theory + practical. Simplified anatomy/physiology +interactive presentation. Able to ask questions + summarised findings/knowledge.

Ran through clearly the order of assessment + how this dictates treatment/intervention. I have previously completed vestibular courses + and at the end still didn't know how to approach Ax + Rx. Now I have a much better idea + differentiate between peripheral + central causes. Thank you.

Really valuable vestibular course. It has given me a really logical process to follow to assess and treat patients presenting with dizziness in the acute setting. Excellent style of teaching i.e. always returning to/ reiterating key points to check learning throughout the day. Thank you, it will be really helpful to benefit our patients.

Really helpful in foundation knowledge and assessment of disorders causing dizziness. Essential learning for anyone treating patients with dizziness. Thank you.
